Its sad to depart with this bike. Its actually the 2nd Tourer I have owned and is a wonderful motorcycle. I’ve struggled with the decision to sell this motorcycle for several months, and after considering how much time I spend at work combined with the frustration on our ongoing construction on the Milwaukee freeways, I’ve decided that if the right offer comes along I’d be willing to part with the Tourer along with most of my accessories, which means my cover, dolly and trickle charger(battery tender) plus any other parts I have for this wonderful motorcycle (maybe not the spare parts with my history I’ll likely buy another T in a couple of years.)
Sadly Sold

This 98 actually started its real life in 2001. The first owner purchased the motor cycle in the Denver area out of the crate in 2001. It was originally a cream and turquoise color, which as you can see didn’t last. The original owner took the bike to an auto body shop and had it painted this almost metal flake maroon, its actually a Pontiac color for the 1980′s, I’ll check later to see if I can find the documents. I have all the records of the work and all the receipts for the paint and most of the service work done on the bike.
You might be wondering why you would want to buy an Honda Shadow? This isn’t any ordinary motorcycle, as you will see below it was designed with an engine specifically designed to run smoother than the standard VT1100, has heavier suspension and hard saddle bags that protect your valuables from the environment. When I started looking for my first motorcycle I wanted something stable, reliable, comfortable and with shaft drive. In searching the web I found this website http://hondashadowacetourer.yuku.com/directory . This is undeniably the best motorcycling community on the web; always welcoming and always willing to lend advice if not a hand.

What really makes this bike special is the engine, in 1998 Honda Honda replaced the A.C.E.’s loping, shaky single-pin-crank V-twin engine with the smoother, offset-dual-pin crankshaft design found in the standard Shadow Spirit 1100.
This Tourer has been customized with a lot of chrome, for example you can see all of the side plates are chromed, as is the Radiator cover. This makes the bike stand apart from the stock bike quite appreciably.
Other enhancements to this motorcycle include a Vance and Hines 2 into 2 exhaust system that provides little more horsepower and provides a nice throaty sound that isn’t obnoxious, though if you want to make it louder there are baffles that can be removed to make sure motorists around you know when you are coming and going, I’ve never played with removing the baffles, but if you are so inclined the ACE Tourer site would be able to provide you with a host of solutions to making this motorcycle heard. Today it has a deep but mild mannered report.
Other customization to the Tourer include:
- Studded Tank Bib
